About Angela

I don’t necessarily take pride in having over 300 pair of shoes. Okay, maybe a little. I guess for me acquiring shoes is like collecting art, but instead of wall space I seek closet space. Some say it’s excessive, others say it’s exciting. I say it’s me.
Shoes, clothes, accessories, all stuff I’ve acquired much of since “discovering” fashion in elementary school. Sure, I had always worn clothes but aside from a pretty mediocre mall, there wasn’t much else around my early stomping grounds. I began shopping at indie stores in Royal Oak and Ferndale as a tween, jumping at the opportunity if and when someone in my house would drive me.
One weekend while shopping, I asked my mom to buy me a pair of jeans I just had to have, priced at $80 (a steal nowadays). She gave me a maternal smile and said those three wonderful words that many mothers have likely told their daughters during moments like those.
“Get a job.”
So I did. I began bussing tables on the weekends to pocket a little under a hundred bucks that I’d spend on Sunday. I loved Mondays because I got to wear my new ensemble to school, the hallways becoming my own personal runways. Shopping became a weekly routine that hasn’t stopped yet.
I shop when I can. Heck, I shop when I can’t. Online shopping has become another way to get great products, without having to fill up the gas tank. Otherwise, I’m constantly scouring the city from Saks to Salvation Army, searching for new stores, and, most importantly, where and how to snag deals.
Somehow after years of adoring fashion, shopping ‘til I dropped and a college degree, I managed to make a job out of it. Which is why I’m here.
The purpose of this page isn’t for me to tell you how to dress, or attempt to get you to dress like me. If we all shared the same wardrobe, boy oh boy would this be a boring place! Fashion is so personal, and yes while it’s easy to mimic a department store mannequin, if you’re not really comfortable and confident in your get-up, it shows. Often times people put something on that looks great on somebody else and end up looking stiffer than those life sized plastic dolls.
So I’m here to help you find your style, introduce you to new trends and ideas and provide a fantastic list of locations to make it all happen.
