Royal Oak designer toy store, Lift, is having its fourth "Munny" art show on Saturday, August 9 featuring the work of about 40 creative local, national and international artists.

Lift Boutique owner Kent Alverson expects this event to be the largest one yet. "The last three shows went really well," he says, "but with our new location we will be able to have a bigger crowd." Earlier this year, the shop moved from its former location on 11 Mile Road to Fourth Street.

The "Munny" is a blank vinyl toy produced by Kidrobot.

Designed differently from its sibling, the Dunny, the Munny was made blank so it's owner can create art on the toy canvas. Both the Munny and Dunny were designed by former College of Creative Studies student and Thunderdog Studios founder, Tristan Eaton. He also designed the Kidrobot logo, Kidrobot "Zoomies" and the Kidrobot figure.

In addition to Kidrobot, Lift carries collectible toys from Frank Kozik, Tokidoki, Wonder Wall, Gloomy Bear, Friends with You, Strangeco, Wheaty Wheat and Ugly Dolls.

The opening reception is Saturday, August 9 from 7 - 10 p.m. The munny exhibition will go through September 1st, so if you can't make it Saturday, be sure to drop by before then.

Lift is located at 228 W. Fourth Street in Royal Oak. For more information, check liftfootwear.com or call the shop at 248.545.5245.
