Gettin' The Boot

Boots and booties are useful staples in your wardrobe as they can be worn with everything from denim to dresses. Here are eleven of our favorites from the classics like Docs and Engineer Boots to the more of-the-moment styles like peep-toe platforms and fuchsia Louboutins.

A - These bone booties are just the right mix of feminine and fresh, plus the wedge heel is all-day wearable, $180 by Corso Como.

B - These leather lace-ups by Shoes For Lovely People are no doubt versatile. Rock 'em alone with a dress, with stockings and a micro-mini or with your favorite jeans, $145.

C - Grey suede is just as wearable as black making it a nice and easy alternative. We like these button-side slouch boots by Dolce Vita, $249.

D - We hope you're not afraid to wear white all year 'round. Funk it up a little in these ankle boots, complete with wool socks and a sweet belt strap, $570.

E - All girls should own a pair of tough boots and these Frye Engineer Boots are a solid bet. They're built to last with Goodyear welt construction and look even better after they've been worn for a while, $188.

F - If you haven't saved your Doc Martens from the nineties, the "Triumph 1914' boots are a terrific throwback item. Lace 'em up tall or fold 'em over to show off the flannel lining, $140.

G - It's darn near impossible not to turn heads (okay, and break some necks) in the C'est Moi (French for "It's Me") shoe boots by Christian Louboutin ($825). They also come in black but this is clearly the way to go. Duh.

H - Exposing a little toe during the cooler months may not be super practical, but when played up with socks or hosiery, these Linea Paolo boots in black leather with a conical heel make for a statement shoe, $160.

I - We love a tri-color variation of the oxford bootie, like these from Prada, $695.

J - Is it a shoe? Is it a boot? Who cares? The 'Kit Kat' shoe boots by Rupert Sanderson are sexy and chic in classic black and white. The heel sets it off from the rearview, just look out for puddles,$1,100.

K - Oh and while you're visiting Net-A-Porter to check those out, you'll likely notice these stunning Marni boots, $920. They're multi-textured, architectural and super high.
