Before you give me a hard time for web writing in text language, hear me out. 4 Real! It's time once again for WDIV-Local 4/ ClickOnDetroit.com's 'Vote 4 The Best' contest encompassing a wide spectrum of the D from shoe shops and gay bars to local bands, tattoo parlors, art galleries, salons, children's clothing and more!

Do you have an absolute favorite shop you'd like to show love to? Do they treat you like a superstar shopper that you are and carry the best stuff for miles?

Well check the list and help them get recognized for being fabulous! Aside from being a contest, '4 The Best' highlights some of those little bitty places that you likely didn't know existed (or you did but thought they were your little secret) and helps put 'em on the map.

The contest is user-generated with a comment field so if you want to give a shout-out to your stylist who gives you the perfect coif or boutique owners who truly know their stuff, go right ahead! If you're like me, you love to post your thoughts and find it interesting to read what other folks have to say. You can also keep up with the current standings for a specific category, to check the status of your fave spot.

Once you start voting you'll get this urge to cover all the categories making sure you don't leave out your favorite watering hole, sushi joint, indie theatre, flower shop, BBQ ... you get my point.
