If Radio Raheem had an iPod ...
"Hey Angela! I noticed a vendor at the Warped Tour on Friday had some cool ghetto blaster in their booth. They had a note on it that said something like "tip me and I'll tell you where I got it." Well I didn't and I want to know! Help!"

Hey Tracy!
Thanks for writing. Oddly enough, I saw that at the Warped Tour note and all! It was also on the cover of Real Detroit Weekly last week, if you caught that. Well, here's what I know about it and it's probably even cooler than you think!
You see, back in the 80's, Lasonic made classic boomboxes and the model you saw was the totally 2008 version of the TRC-931. That's right. The updated version, Lasonic's i931 iPod Boombox, comes complete with an iPod dock, AM/FM radio, USB input and SD/MMC card readers to play MP3s and you can even watch video on your TV if using iPod Video.
These things have been out of stock for weeks now. You can likely spy some on eBay and the manufacturer site, Lasonic.com is supposed to have some, priced at $180. Just in time for those summer block parties .. and soon enough for back to school blastin'.
