It's Weird Al!

It's Weird Al!

Spotted during a rare in-studio appearance promoting his upcoming performance at Meadowbrook, "Weird Al" Yankovic was kind enough to talk about his personal style and, of course, his hair. (We had been dying to know if it's natural!) Here's what he had to say...

When asked what a typical day outfit is for him, Weird Al says he likes to just "keep it incognito" but when he goes out at night it's a little more "John Tesh." His shirts are typically floral or Hawaiian-inspired and it's "important that they always match his underwear."

His sneakers are by Vans which he claims to have "a whole separate closet" for and says the owner of Vans visited his home and was blown away by his collection, many dating back to the eighties.

Mr. Yankovic likes to shop both vintage and new. When asked about his shirt he refused to tell us its maker because he didn't get it for free, therefore, he says, "they" didn't deserve a plug. And that hair? "I run my fingers through it in the shower," he says. Then it's all air dry from there. He also noted that, yes, it's natural although many people think it's a bad perm.

His most coveted accessory is a floppy hat from Maui. Most importantly, his favorite video (of his own) is White & Nerdy because of the celebrities he worked with and because he learned how to ride a Segway!

Weird Al loves Vans. We love Weird Al.

Hitting the Detroit Urban Craft Fair this weekend was a sensory overload of coolness. Did you see the Kill Taupe booth boasting work from local artist Jason Driscoll? We sure did. Bright colors, creepy cupcakes, goofy animals and angry veggies? That's right up our alley!
